Aston Villa keen on signing Caoimhin Kelleher

Aston Villa are reportedly considering Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez, with Chelsea also showing strong interest.

According to Fichajes, the 26-year-old Irish goalkeeper is expected to leave Anfield this summer in search of regular first-team football. With Alisson Becker remaining Liverpool’s undisputed No.1 and new signing Giorgi Mamardashvili set to arrive, Kelleher’s path to minutes looks increasingly blocked.

Villa are bracing for the possible departure of Martinez, despite the Argentine recently signing a new contract. His body language following Villa’s final home game of the season sparked speculation it could have been his farewell. Reports suggest the club are open to selling him if the right offer arrives.

Chelsea and Brighton Also in the Race

Unai Emery’s side have also been linked with Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, but heavy competition could force them to explore alternatives—Kelleher now among the top targets. However, Villa won’t have a free run.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to upgrade from Robert Sanchez and view Kelleher as a viable option. Brighton have also expressed interest, making the race for the Irish shot-stopper even more intense.

Ultimately, Liverpool’s asking price will play a key role in determining where Kelleher lands, but with Villa, Chelsea, and Brighton circling, a summer move looks increasingly likely.
