Liverpool are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Fenerbahce left-back Archie Brown, with Manchester United also tracking the defender after a standout Champions League display in Istanbul.

Brown Impresses Against Liverpool
The 24-year-old scored an equaliser and set up Vedat Muriqi’s winner as Fenerbahce beat Liverpool 3-2. TEAMtalk claims the Reds have watched Brown for some time and are now expected to move faster. The Birmingham-born player has contributed five goals and assists in 16 appearances this season.
Why Liverpool Need a Left-Back
Milos Kerkez has been inconsistent since his £40 million arrival from Bournemouth, while Kostas Tsimikas is set to depart when his contract expires next summer. Brown could therefore provide either competition or a direct replacement.
Manchester United Also Keen
United missed out on their preferred target, Lewis Hall, in the summer and still lack depth on the left. Luke Shaw is their only senior left-back, with Patrick Dorgu frequently deployed higher up the pitch. Brown has reportedly been monitored regularly by Old Trafford scouts.
Brown’s Career Path
Having developed at West Bromwich Albion and Derby County, Brown moved to Lausanne in 2021, then Gent, before joining Fenerbahce in 2025. AC Milan also made enquiries over the summer, and he is said to be open to a Premier League return.
Our View
Brown looks a sensible, relatively affordable option for either club, and his experience abroad could help him adapt quickly. Liverpool appear to have the greater need, though United’s lack of cover makes this a genuine contest to watch in 2027.
