Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks with AC Milan over a summer move for midfielder Youssouf Fofana, though Juventus are also circling.

Spurs and Juventus Join the Race
According to Spanish outlet Ficherio, both clubs have made initial contact with the Rossoneri to explore a deal for the 27-year-old Frenchman. Juventus want a versatile midfielder to strengthen their squad, while Sevilla, where Fofana is currently on loan, are keen to keep him.
Fofana Impressing in La Liga
Fofana arrived at San Siro from Monaco in August 2024 and managed three goals and 13 assists in 88 appearances. His game time dipped after a strong first season, prompting the loan switch to Sevilla.
Under Luis Garcia Plaza, he has thrived, registering one goal and three assists in eight league games as Sevilla climb to sixth. That form has clearly caught the eye of Europe’s bigger clubs.
Is There Room at Spurs?
Tottenham have long admired Fofana, yet their midfield looks crowded after the summer signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. They also want to retain Lucas Bergvall, so a midfielder would likely need to leave before any deal materialises.
Juventus, meanwhile, have a reason of their own to look elsewhere. Pape Matar Sarr is with them on loan from Spurs, and he and Douglas Luiz have both been inconsistent this term. Fofana’s Premier League-ready profile could help him settle quickly in Turin.
Our Take
Fofana would offer Spurs athleticism and composure, but the numbers in midfield do not add up without an outgoing transfer. Milan, however, will be pleased: competition from several suitors strengthens their hand in negotiations. Sevilla’s determination to keep him adds another complication, and I suspect his price will climb if his form continues.
