Liverpool in talks over Porto’s Chancel Mbemba deal?

Liverpool have reportedly joined the clutch of clubs hoping to sign Porto centre-back Chancel Mbemba in the upcoming transfer window.

The 26-year-old is under contract with the Portuguese giants until the end of next season.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Napoli have made an enquiry about Mbemba’s availability and the Premier League champions Liverpool have also asked about the Congolese.

The report goes on to claim that Porto value the centre-back at around £12.8m, a fee the Merseyside giants would be willing to pay for a player.

The defender has been in impressive form for the Portuguese outfit since leaving the Magpies in 2018.

Mbemba racked up 81 times for the Primeira Liga champions, including 33 games in all competitions so far this season.
