Manchester United set to win the race to sign Erling Braut Haaland

Manchester United reportedly seem ready to try to win the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland in the summer.

The Norway international is set to become one of the world’s most sought-after players in June with his release clause said to be worth in the region of £64m.

Last month it has been suggested that the Red Devils had pulled out of the race to sign the 21-year-old striker, as they discovered that the youngster has intentions of joining Real Madrid.

However, The Sun reports that Los Blancos’ pursuit of Kylian Mbappe potentially leaves Man United, Man City and Chelsea to battle it out for Haaland’s signature, with Ralf Rangnick’s side confident they can fend off interest from their league rivals.

However, the report adds Barcelona is believed to be Haaland’s preferred destination should the Norwegian decide to leave BVB this summer.

Haaland has scored 80 goals in 79 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga giants.
