Real Madrid remain interested in signing Erling Braut Haaland

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland is still a target for the La Liga leaders Real Madrid despite Manchester City remain the frontrunners at this moment.

The 21-year-old is expected to leave Dortmund, with a £67m release clause in his contract due to become active when the summer transfer window opens.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with the Norway international, but it appears that the Blaugrana are no longer in the race due to their financial problems.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, City ‘are doing their best’ to sign the frontman, with the English champions emerging as the favourites for his signature.

However, Romano claims that Los Blancos are still in the race, with Carlo Ancelotti’s team determined to bring him to the Bernabeu for the upcoming campaign.

Despite having injury problems this season, Haaland has once again been one of BVB’s standout performers in an impressive season, finding the back of the net on 23 occasions in 25 appearances.
