Liverpool eye €40m transfer swoop for Ismael Bennacer?

Liverpool are ready to pounce for AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer by making a €40m bid before the summer transfer window shuts down.

The Algeria international has established himself as a regular for the Rossoneri, scoring twice and providing one assist in 31 Serie A games last season.

He possesses a contract at San Siro until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for their former player, who only made one appearance for the club in the EFL Cup before leaving the Emirates in 2017.

Now, Calciomercatoweb claims that Liverpool are also keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old attacker, who would be the subject of a €40m fee from the Reds.

The report goes on to claim that Bennacer possesses a release clause of €50m in his existing contract, and the Serie A giants may try to hold out for that fee at first.
