Juventus to Resume Talks with Chelsea for Lukaku’s €40 Million Transfer

The Italian giants Juventus are set to resume negotiations with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, whose price tag is €40 million, during the summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri are keen on signing Lukaku and they are stepping up their efforts to secure the Belgian’s services.

Lukaku’s career took a downturn when he decided to return to Chelsea after a successful stint with Inter Milan. His second season at the London club was disappointing, managing only 15 goals and two assists in 44 appearances, and expressing his unhappiness in an interview. Consequently, the Blues loaned him back to Inter Milan last summer.

While Lukaku struggled with injuries during his time at Inter, he still contributed crucial goals in the latter part of the 2022/23 season. Initially, it seemed likely that he would rejoin Nerazzurri permanently. However, his contact with Juventus during negotiations between Inter and Chelsea led to a fallout with Inter Milan.

Saudi Arabian clubs have made attractive offers for the 30-year-old forward, but he has no interest in moving to the Middle East. This leaves Juventus as the primary destination for the veteran striker this summer.

Earlier reports suggested that an agreement on the transfer fee was reached, but the recent update indicates that Juventus are yet to pay the required amount. The outcome of the discussions between Chelsea and Juventus remains uncertain.
