Johan Manzambi has made a rapid impact in the Premier League, and two of Spain’s biggest clubs are reportedly paying attention.

Barcelona and Real Madrid Show Interest
Former Villa scout Bryan King has told Football Insider that both La Liga giants are tracking the 21-year-old. Manzambi joined from Freiburg this summer for just over £50 million, and his early form suggests Villa’s outlay was justified. His third goal in six appearances settled a 1-0 win over Newcastle United.
Alongside those three goals, he has also provided two assists. His stock was already rising after four World Cup appearances for Switzerland, in which he scored three times and set up two more.
Villa Hold the Advantage
Villa are in no rush to negotiate, as Manzambi’s contract runs until 2031. The club also know how lucrative smart recruitment can be, having sold Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for a club-record £117 million. Unai Emery has praised the midfielder’s attitude and hunger to improve.
Our Opinion
Interest from Madrid and Barcelona is flattering, but six games are not enough to define a player’s ceiling. Manzambi’s energy, forward runs and composure on the ball are encouraging, yet the real test comes when opponents start denying him space.
Villa should prioritise his development over his valuation. If he becomes a genuine star under Emery, a huge offer may eventually arrive. Until then, he is worth more to Villa on the pitch than in the bank.
