Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Lyon attacker Bradley Barcola.

The 20-year-old has caught the attention of top European clubs, including Liverpool, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Having been with Lyon since the age of eight, Barcola has steadily climbed the ranks to become an integral part of manager Laurent Blanc’s squad this season. With seven goals and four assists in 25 senior appearances, including five goals and three assists in Ligue 1 since January, the young talent has impressed both on and off the pitch.

Although Barcola missed Lyon’s recent win over Toulouse due to a suspension, he has still managed to score or assist in his last four top-flight matches, as well as contributing two goals and an assist in the Coupe de France.

While Lyon holds Barcola’s contract until the end of the 2025-26 season, clubs with a keen eye on his development will no doubt make suitable offers to secure his signature.

The youngster set up two goals in 13 appearances in his debut season at Lyon last year. Barcola’s versatility, having played on both wings and through the middle, has added to his appeal as a transfer target.

With Roberto Firmino confirmed to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the Reds are set to have an opening in their attacking ranks. However, with Jurgen Klopp already having Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez capable of playing in Firmino’s position, finding a replacement is not a top priority.
