In the cut-throat world of football transfers, no player is immune to the lure of a big-money move to one of Europe’s elite clubs. And so it is with Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, whose impressive performances in the Premier League have reportedly caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain.

As one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe, the Brazil international was the subject of intense speculation during his time at Lyon, with PSG among the clubs vying for his signature. However, it was the Magpies who ultimately secured his services following their takeover.

Since arriving at St James’ Park, Guimaraes has gone from strength to strength, cementing his place as one of the top players in his position. With nine goals and five assists in 49 games, the 25-year-old has been instrumental in Newcastle’s success this season, helping them to reach the EFL Cup final and putting them in the driving seat for Champions League football.

But as is often the case with such talent, the vultures are circling. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been linked with a move for Guimaraes, and now it seems PSG have re-entered the race.

Newcastle will undoubtedly be bracing themselves for bids for their prized asset in the upcoming transfer window, but with Guimaraes under contract for another three years, they will not let him go lightly. The battle for his signature is sure to be fierce, but one thing is for certain – whoever ends up with Guimaraes will be getting one of the brightest talents in European football.

According to sources, PSG are discussing the possibility of tabling an offer for the Brazilian sensation, although no formal approach has been made as yet.

To fend off any interest from the French and other European heavyweights, the Magpies have reportedly begun talks with Guimaraes over a new and improved contract, which would undoubtedly make him one of the club’s highest earners.
