Club Brugge Open to Offers for Belgian Left-Back
Club Brugge will demand around €35 million to consider selling 21-year-old Belgium international Joaquin Seys next year, according to TEAMtalk. The Belgian club would rather keep their prized asset, but have set a valuation designed to protect their investment.

Manchester United Eye Defensive Reinforcement
Manchester United explored a move for Seys during the summer window, but no deal materialised. The Red Devils have since scouted him regularly during the early part of the 2026/27 campaign and view left-back as a key area to strengthen, ideally in January.
Luke Shaw is currently the only specialist in that position in Michael Carrick’s squad. Patrick Dorgu has filled in there occasionally, but has been used more recently as a winger.
Why Seys Appeals
Having come through the Club Brugge academy over a decade, Seys broke into the first team at the start of the 2024/25 season. He has since made more than 100 senior appearances, contributing seven goals and 12 assists, strong numbers for a full-back.
His attacking output has risen this term, with four assists in just nine outings. A composed left-sided presence who also carries the ball well, he fits the profile United’s system favours.
Newcastle United Join the Race
Newcastle United have emerged as competitors, which adds pressure on United’s timeline. Their interest is intriguing, perhaps influenced by United’s pursuit of Lewis Hall. The €35 million valuation looks attainable for both Premier League clubs.
Our Take
Seys feels like a smart, forward-thinking target for United, who need a long-term successor to Shaw rather than another short-term fix. Waiting until the summer could be risky with Newcastle now involved, so a January move may make the most sense. Even so, €35 million is a sizeable fee for a player still developing, and United will need to be sure he is ready for Premier League intensity.
