Chelsea retain interest in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele?

Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to Sport.

The France international recently signed a new two-year deal with the Blaugrana. As part of the renewal, the Catalan giants agreed to put a release clause worth €50m.

The winger’s clause will become active at the end of the campaign and the Blues are prepared to lure him to Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, the La Liga giants are in the process of negotiating a renewal with the 25-year-old such that he does not leave next summer.

The Frenchman accepted a big pay cut to remain with the Blaugrana, but he expects the club to hand him a new and improved deal.

Dembele has had a difficult time for Barca since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, struggling with regular injuries.
