Liverpool Consider Lyon Star Rayan Cherki in Summer Rebuild

Liverpool are reportedly considering AFC Bournemouth winger Rayan as a backup plan to Bradley Barcola, according to Caught Offside.

The Search For Salah’s Successor

With Mohamed Salah gone, the Reds brought in Victor Muñoz from Osasuna — but he’s not ready to shoulder the Egyptian’s legacy alone. Liverpool tried Yan Diomande first, only to watch RB Leipzig‘s winger edge toward Real Madrid. Attention then turned to PSG‘s Barcola, though he’s a natural left-winger rather than a true Salah replacement.

Barcola Price Tag Proving A Sticking Point

Liverpool have opened talks and are ready to offer around £86m, with the player himself open to the move. PSG, however, want closer to £145m, with Barcola’s contract running until 2028. That gap has pushed Andoni Iraola‘s side to explore alternatives — including a familiar face.

Like Salah, Rayan is a left-footed right-winger, and he knows Iraola’s system from their time together at Vitality Stadium. Signed from Vasco Da Gama in January after Antoine Semenyo‘s exit, the 20-year-old stands 6ft 1in, has a contract until 2031, and carries a £130m release clause. He racked up seven goal contributions in 15 Premier League appearances and helped Bournemouth reach next season’s Europa League.
