Crystal Palace have reportedly told Paris Saint-Germain that Jaydee Canvot is not for sale, according to Football Insider.

Palace Stand Firm on Canvot
The 20-year-old defender joined from Toulouse in 2025 in a €23 million deal and has grown steadily in importance at Selhurst Park. Marc Guehi’s departure to Manchester City opened the door to a bigger role, and Canvot has taken it. He has made 41 appearances for the Eagles and was part of the squad that won the Conference League.
PSG are understood to have made enquiries over the summer, but Palace shut the conversation down quickly. Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown says the club have no intention of selling while Canvot continues to progress under Pierre Sage.
Why Palace See Him as a Long-Term Asset
Canvot is still short on top-flight experience, and Palace believe his best football is ahead of him. The club view him as a future cornerstone of their defence rather than a quick profit.
Relationship With Sage Under the Spotlight
Things have not been entirely smooth. Canvot was dropped after a poor display against Fulham, with Sage publicly demanding more. He responded well, delivering a strong performance at Leeds as Palace claimed a point at Elland Road.
Our Take
Palace are right to resist. A young centre-back playing regularly in the Premier League and trusted in a key role is the kind of player clubs should build around, and PSG’s interest is more flattering than threatening.
The more interesting question is the relationship with Sage. Public criticism can sharpen a player, but too much of it risks denting the confidence of a 20-year-old who is still learning. How Sage balances demands with support could shape Canvot’s next few years.
